LinkShare terms
A skeleton of the participation terms for NOSA LinkShare. It states the principles the service is built on and leaves legal particulars to counsel.
Draft — pending legal review; not yet in force
This draft has not been reviewed or approved by counsel and is not in force. LinkShare is in development and is not yet accepting members. Nothing here is an offer or a binding term until it is approved and published.
Draft version: terms-2026-10-draft-1
Participation is voluntary
Taking part is optional. Participation has two modes: hosting, which means displaying the box on a website you own, and receiving referrals as a business shown in other members' boxes. A member can do either or both.
Hosting the box is never a condition of NOSA membership, and no member owes another member a link, a placement or a return referral.
Your site and your accuracy
You may add the box only to a website you own or are authorised to change, and you confirm that by completing the ownership check. Your selling categories and destination must be described truthfully. The member standards page describes review and appeals.
Qualified links
Every link the box emits is qualified for search engines, and that cannot be turned off. Where a placement is compensated, the link also carries the sponsored qualification and a visible disclosure.
No promises about outcomes
LinkShare is built for discovery and referral visits. It makes no promise about search rankings, traffic, sales, or the number of businesses shown, and the box may show fewer than four links or none.
Category protection cannot be overridden
The rule that excludes businesses in your selling categories, and the categories and businesses you block, is applied on the server for every request. No administrator, payment or exposure target can override it, and the service shows fewer links rather than relax it.
Suspension and removal
NOSA can pause, suspend or remove an installation or a business listing, for example when ownership cannot be confirmed, a destination is unsafe, or the member standards are breached. You can remove the box or withdraw at any time, and the service stops showing your business after removal.
Pending: Notice periods, appeal timing and effects on fees or credits, if any. To be completed by NOSA counsel.
Fees and entitlement
Pending: Which membership levels may take part, and whether any paid placement exists, are undecided. To be completed by NOSA counsel.
Warranties, liability and indemnity
Pending: To be completed by NOSA counsel.
Parties, governing law and contact
Pending: The contracting entity, its address, governing law, venue and notice contact. To be completed by NOSA counsel.
Changes to these terms
Each version of the terms has an identifier, and enrollment records which version a member accepted. A new version requires a new acceptance before it applies to you.
