Platform compatibility
Two different questions decide whether a seller can take part: can the platform display the LinkShare box, and can it receive visitors referred by other members. They have different answers on some platforms.
Platform research checked. These are documentation-based assessments, not completed installs. Platform plans, themes and editors change; recheck the platform and this page before relying on a label.
Display versus receive
| Platform | Status | Can display the box | Can receive referrals | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Shopify | Planned / unverified | Documented path, not yet tested | Yes | Depends on a theme with a footer Custom Liquid block. Checkout excluded. |
| WordPress / WooCommerce | Planned / unverified | Documented path, not yet tested | Yes | Footer HTML through an approved snippet tool. Theme and security plugins differ. |
| Squarespace | Planned / unverified | Documented path, not yet tested | Yes | Code block plus footer code injection. Injection lands before the closing body tag. |
| Wix | Planned / unverified | Documented path, not yet tested | Yes | No embed path exists yet, so there is nothing to install. |
| Webflow | Planned / unverified | Documented path, not yet tested | Yes | Footer custom code or a Code Embed on an eligible plan. Publish to test. |
| BigCommerce | Planned / unverified | Documented path, not yet tested | Yes | Script Manager plus a deliberate footer mount. Stencil and headless are separate. |
| Custom HTML site | Planned / unverified | Documented path, not yet tested | Yes | Paste before the closing body tag. Check single-page navigation and CSP. |
| Etsy shop | Destination-only | No | Yes | Etsy offers no way to add a custom script to a shop. Host the box on a site you own. |
| eBay, Amazon, TikTok Shop, Whatnot and similar | Destination-only | No | Yes | Receive referrals subject to platform review. eBay forbids active content in listings. |
Where things stand
Every hosting platform below is Planned / unverified. Each install path is documented, but NOSA has not yet installed LinkShare on a test site for any of them. A platform only moves to another label after a reproducible install is recorded with its environment and date.
What the labels mean
- Supported
- A reproducible install succeeded on a stated plan, editor and theme, with the date recorded. No platform holds this label yet.
- Conditional
- Installs under stated plan or theme conditions. No platform holds this label yet.
- Destination-only
- Can receive referrals but offers no way to host the box. Not an installation target.
- Planned / unverified
- The install path is documented from the platform and NOSA research. NOSA has not yet tested it.
Etsy, explained
Etsy shops are a destination, not a host. Etsy controls what a shop page may contain and offers no way to add a custom script or embed, so the LinkShare box cannot be placed on an Etsy shop.
An Etsy seller can still take part. Other members can send visitors to the shop, and a seller who also owns a separate website can display the box there.
